Iraqi security officials:

17 British intelligence and military officers involved with the Tuesday terrorist
bombings in Ahvaz

Tehran -- British military men and officials of the British consulate to Basra do not
heed our repeated warnings against their interference in the domestic affairs of Iran
and they continue with their interventions, an Iraqi security official said following
the explosions in the south-west provincial capital city of Ahvaz.

Senior Iraqi security official in the city of Basra Abu Ali told PNA, "our follow ups
have revealed that 17 British intelligence and military officers have cooperated with
the terrorists in charge of the recent bombings and sabotage in the city of Ahvaz and
Khuzestan province of Iran".

"7 of the said individuals are intelligence officers, while 6 are military
instructors and another 3 are members of the special units of the British army called
Desert Mice", he furthered.

He also underlined that the number probably exceeded the said figure, adding, "we
know for sure that the 17 British officers, along with over 140 anti-Iran mercenaries
(http://www.irandidban.com), have been transferred from Europe, England in
particular, to different parts of Iraq, mainly to the areas around Basra and
Al-Amare".

He also spoke of the membership of 6 of the MKO members
(http://www.iran-interlink.org) in the British sabotage organization designed for
launching terrorist attacks in the Iranian province of Khuzestan, and furthered,
"more than 50 members of the former Iraqi intelligence department (Estekhbaraat)
whose fields of activity used to be related to Khuzestan province have been employed
by the British intelligence officers and after receiving the needed trainings, they
have been used as heads of the different sabotage groups who run terrorist operations
against Iran".

"Britain has lately equipped this anti-Iranian organization with the most advanced
espionage and sabotage equipments, including eavesdropping systems and 2 autopilot
planes", Abu Ali added.

He also continued that according to their latest information, the British army had
provided the group with the experiences that it had gathered during the era it was
fighting against the Northern Ireland Liberation Army.

Abu Ali also mentioned that the Iraqi intelligence forces had been informed of the
issue when they were dealing with a plot designed by two British intelligence
officers in Basra last year.

He also reminded that the British have used the same terrorist group for several
sabotage operations in the city of Basra, adding, "a majority of the group members
have been transferred to the province of Misan so as to enter Khuzestan via Hourha".

The Iraqi security official stated that the British had provided the group with the
satellite images and photographs of the Khuzestan province and that they had
established a headquarters in the "Waterloo Lions Base" in the vicinity of the Iraqi
city of Ummol-Qasr.
