Notwithstanding the "grooming" at Rishi Valley, embracing someone genetically related (that too directly) to Sanjay Gandhi?????????????????? Eeewwwwwwww! The BJP leadership has collectively lost its marbles, if not its memory. It is better to dump this liability, and the entire Nehru/Gandhi clan (at least all the males).

Greed for power makes them sacrifice their alleged principles. The BJP is no different in that way.

Firstly, she is India born. Compared to the geriatric Pakistanis, either running the country or waiting in the wings, this is a big plus. :-)

Secondly, get the looks fluff out of the way. She is good looking without any "Fair and Lovely" assist :-)

She is educated - Modern School, no less (a classy non-Catholic institution :-)) for starters, before the Convent of Jesus and Mary. Presumably she earned her degree in Psychology from DU. No airline piloting or Rolls Royce apprenticeship. :-)

She is an excellent and seasoned campaigner. She runs/manages the campaigns of both her mother and kid bro. They are essentially ventriloquists dummies (the Yuvraj for sure, and the (nauk)Rani to some extent) :-)

She keeps her religious identity private. I don't believe it interferes with her (level headed) politics. Big big plus from a "secular" point of view.

She scored a PR coup of sorts by forgiving the woman who abetted in her father's murder. Another big plus, at least in TN (amongst the diehard analysts for the LTTE :-)). The only downside is she is not overweight. "Fair and fat" is what the male voters like in TN. If she gains another 50 pounds, she'll not only get all the votes in TN, she'll also get a "fan club" and a temple or two. :-)

She has charisma, in spades (to use a Rod Speed-ism :-)) Commies will eat out of her hands any day. Besides, she trumps dhoti-clad hayseeds like Deve Gowda, or Bhojpuri "ganwars" like Lalu, or the Dalit (nauk)Rani Mayawati. :-)

She is another Indira Gandhi in the making. The understated ambition is just her way of biding her time. Give her 5 years more, and she is good to take on the mantle of PM. She has to start moving about the country meeting and greeting people, which I am sure she will after the upcoming general elections.
