Usually, only those groups that need to be pitted against Hindus are
usually granted the status of Minority. This move is an insurance
policy to immunize rabidly anti-hindu groups against any backlash from
Hindus. Anytime Hindus seek to challenge minoritism or politics of
anti-hindu minorities, our politicians can now instigate it as attack
on Jains. Example: genuine resentment against uncontrolled immigration
of illegal Bangladeshis in Mumbai is pre-empted by politicians by
framing the issue as Biharis vs Marathi. Thus, illegal Bangladeshis or
over-immigration in Mumbai can never be challenged without turning it
into politicization against other Indian ethnic groups. This is the
kind of divisive and destructive engineering congress party
specializes in.
Has there been any reason given for this action at this time?
The reason ostensibly given so far for dividing people up has been
to "protect" the minorities. On the financial front, at least, the
perception is that they are on the average better off than the rest of
the country.
I am sure every group of 1000 people can claim a minority status on
some ground or the other. Is that where the idiots in charge want to
take the country?
