There are many who call for the re-interpretation of the Koran and

[...] A LEADING adviser on Islam, Ameer Ali, has attacked Muslims who
"blindly" follow their faith and fail to question the veracity of the
Koran, saying that even Mohammed had "flaws". He warns that Islamists
will continue to breed jihadis unless the Koran is "reinterpreted" for
today's society:http://www.freedomszone.com/archives/2006/10/islamic_scholar_says_kor...

Is it not intellectually dishonest to call the required process "re-
interpretation"?
What is needed is the "rejection" of Koranic verses that teach jihad
and sharia.

... just as what is needed is rejection of the portions of the Vedas
that have to do with animal sacrifice, depreciation of shudras, etc.

For example, a verse in the Koran (Chapter 9 verse 5)says that
"After the holy month is over, slay the idolators whereever you
find them."
. How can this be "reinterpreted" to mean
"After the holy month is over, do not slay the idolators
whereever you find them."

It cannot. It can, however, be interpreted to mean that the idolators
to be slayed were the idolators of that time who were at war with the
Ummah and not the idolators of this time.

Nobody talks about the "re-interpretation " of the "Manusmriti". They
talk about the "rejection" of the Manusmriti.
Can lasting peace be based on the "lie" of "re-interpretation"?
Hindus have rejected the Manusmriti and accepted the Bhagavad Gita.

Rejection here seems to imply require prior acceptance which not every
Hindu has done. Not every Hindu has ever accepted the Manusmriti or
Bhagavad Gita. Now, someone just posted that there's nothing wrong
with the Manusmriti. It doesn't seem like he has rejected the
Manusmriti.

Should Muslims not reject the Koran and replace it by Rumi's
Mathnawi?

Should Vedins not reject the Vedas and replace them with Valluvan's
Kural?- Hide quoted text -

Is it not hypocritical to condemn Vedic animal sacrifice and then to
slaughter animals and eat animals as Christians do? Which Christian
has condemned Abraham's
readiness to sacrific his son on "God's" order? Abraham routinely
sacrificed sheep.
