II Development Film Festival "Water and Life" Deadline extended up to September 15, 2006

Water and Life: II Development Film Festival - Call for Productions

The Centre for Development Communication of DHAN Foundation is pleased
to invite filmmakers to take part in

The II Development Film Festival on Water and Life
to be held in Madurai, India in September 28-30, 2006

The Second Development Film Festival has been planned on the theme
'Water & Life'. Water is life, physical, emotional and spiritual. It
should not be considered merely as economic resource. The vital nature
of water makes it possible cause of tension but, more importantly, a
potential source of cooperation. Raising the public awareness and
political will needed to implement sustainable water management
requires multi-media strategies promoting the values of water, its
efficient us, disaster mitigation, and the protection of water
resources. The Festival will showcase the exemplary works done by the
documentary film makers on the issues and dimensions of Water.
If you have recently made a documentary, a short fiction film or a
television programme on the theme of water that is ground-breaking in
form or content, inventive, challenging or going beyond conventions, we
are interested in screening your work.

The Centre for Development Communication (CDC) of DHAN Foundation works
towards promoting use of information and communication as a tool for
development. Also it strives for working with print and electronic
media for highlighting development work. As a step forward in this
endeavor the CDC is organizing a Development Film Festival every year.
