whoever gives an unpleasant name to their town?
this same point was raised for mumbai. this too shall pass.
the americans take special pleasure in showin-off when they can pronounce an
exotic town's name well.

Bengaluru sounds like some kind of place like Bangladesh. Not the kind
of name that inspires investor confidence. Bangalore sounds
phonetically better than Bengaluru which like I said, sounds like a
banana plantation.



in texas, there is a town nachodochus. it does wonderfully well.
you don't really think banglore got to where it is now because its name
sounded pretty, do you?

Some politician has suggested it.

Keep the name as Bangalore, it sounds nicer and it has global
recognition. Bengaluru sounds like some banana plantation.

Also Trivandrum sounds whole lot better than the long tounge twisting
name they changed it to. No person from North India is able to
pronounce or spell it let alone any foreign investor.

Mumbai and Bombay are essentially the same.
