Do you even read what you write:

and the reason why reservations were created where exactly because the
market for reservation will continue to remain. If you go to urban
areas, you will see people living in ghettos. Politicians come to them
during election time and tell them -that we care for you and will not
allow your ghetto to be demolished, so vote for me (regardless of how
corrupt he might be). if the politician were really honest, he would
get them out of the ghetto and then it wouldn't matter to them as to
what happens to the ghetto. The bar on performance would be raised a
lot higher for the politician.
Exactly. It makes no difference to the state that India is in -
economically, scientifically, politically.
so -we need to change course on what the remedy is.
But it prevents segregation
- so it has social benefits.
No -it increases the social divide between recepients of rservation and
those who aren't. Life is difficult for everybody, lower caste as well
as upper caste. When upper caste people find themselves sidelined on
account of their caste and not current economic status, it will create
animosity towards the beneficiaries of reservation. That is what lead
to the disolution of the VP Singh govt.
If we have a uniform civil code, all individuals will be treated as
equals by the govt. It means nobody is special on account of his
origins and also that nobody is discriminated on account of the same.
If govt provides jobs/economic benefit to people who are poor -because
they are poor and not because they belong to a particular caste, then
it will not create animosity.
Not my fault that your two grey cells can't correlate differentIt is your mistake that you say we should have segregation and then add
arguments.
that it is a piece of junk with no real effect on solving the problem.
