Re: ambedkar didn't really care for dalits

Imem,

This is not true for multiple reasons

1. Dalit situation has improved. It is just that lot more remains. Much
of the real work remains in the rural areas, where there is very little
improvement. The situation of urban dalits has become critical due to
there being no safety net for dalits against exploitation and
discrimination in the private sector.

2. You cannot blame Ambedkar alone for all political prescriptions
without clarifying which prescriptions you speak about. There is enough
evidence that he was personally in favor of a "uniform civil code" at
the earliest. In fact according to constituent assembly debates, he
argued intensely for including the "uniform civil code" in the
fundamental rights to ensure that an early implementation was ensured.
But the others in the assembly did not agree with him and the shallow
toothless compromise of "non-time-limited-arrival-through-consensus" at
the goal of "uniform civil code" was put into the constitution. About
improvements to the labor, women and dalits, I have already posted
multiple links describing his prescriptions and how they have
benefitted these segments of the Indian population. Now exactly what
are you talking about. Can I know which prescriptions made by Ambedkar
have left hindu society fragmented. And if this is the case then why do
you think Dattopant Thengdi, the pre-eminent theorist of hindutva folk
praises him so much. I am sure you are misunderstanding something.
Request you to please check and let me know. I am confident that I can
help you understand why Dattopant wanted you to understand and respect
Ambedkar.

So, which political prescriptions of Ambedkar have divided hindu
society?

Regards

Pratap
