They occupy Indian Territories and to divert from their occupation they
claim Arunachal P'desh in NEast as their.
They are actively undermining India in global arena.
Yet this SOB see China as not being threat.
China not a threat to India, says Karat
Bangalore, Aug. 26 (PTI): India does not face any threat from China,
CPI-M General Secretary Prakash Karat, said.
China is not targeting any missile against India, he said while
speaking at a seminar on Indo-US relations here today.
He claimed the new found interest of US in India is aimed at using New
Delhi against China.
The US design is to use India as a "bulwark" and "counterweight"
against China, Karat alleged quoting strategic affairs experts.
US does not want China to become "anywhere near parity" with Washington
in terms of military, economic and strategic strengths, he said.
He flayed the UPA Government for entering into a defence framework
agreement with the US.
The deal as well as the joint statement issued after Prime Minister
Manmohan Singh's visit to the US had gone against the letter and spirit
of the UPA's Common Minimum Programme, he said.
He said the CPI-M, which is supporting the UPA Government from outside,
has failed to make the Congress understand the grave implications of
the agreement.
The CPI-M is currently engaged in mobilising public opinion against the
agreement, Karat said.
While maintaining that the CPI-M is not adopting a confrontationist
approach towards the Congress on this issue, Karat expressed hope that
"wisdom will prevail" and the UPA would not proceed with the agreement.
Karat accused the UPA of continuing with the US policies pursued by the
NDA regime. "We do not want the UPA to pursue wrong methods of the
NDA," he said.
