i wonder when the Hmong women's movement for social change and anti
sexism movement will take on this issue. The bride's fee is sexism
pure and simple. There can be no price imaginable on a woman's soul,
yet she is being bought and sold, using rituals, traditions, and other
relics as smokescreen.

Xaav lecaag? $3,000.00 ntawd yeej tsi yog lub cos. Lub cos tag ces

Tug tub hab tug ntxhais puavleej tau BS/BA, ib hlis xwb obtug yeej

cos. Lub tseem cos ces yog cai = ntsejmuag.
I want to agreed with you in regarding to txuj cai.....thiab
ntsejmuag. As I left the wedding, I felt really embarrass at how the
bride price was handle. My thoughts are that, why not pay at least 6
thousand. It is really a big shame to the wife's parents...I wondered
the next time when the groom and bride came for a visit and what would
the mother in law and father in law react?
There is the say, "when cultural and traditional crash" this is what
we all see. Conflict from both side...the old and new
generation...each other have a different point of argument. The
questions is, how do we determined if who is right and who is wrong?
Bride price or non? How much to determined of the prices that would be
considered fair? Different group of Hmong have different opinion in
regarding to paying different prices.......
I like to see Hmong women voice their opinion in this issues....A
question of concerned is: Can we view you, Hmong women as a simple sex
object?
