Sorry... I don't come to the Hmong Social Group here as often and did
not see your post here.  A friend of mine brought this to my
attention.

Pastor,

I am not anyone important.  I am not someone who has the talent or
enough knowledge yet in my life to do what I feel and think about.  I
am still a student and also working.  These are only my dreams and
future endevours that are yet to come.  I am serious about it.  It's
like I see the path before me already and know what I am destined to
do and want to do, but it's just a path and the clearing for that
purpose is yet to make its way.  It will be a life long commitment of
mine.

As said in earlier post, I am only trying to connect to people who
care and people who may be able to give me more information so I know
what to prepare for what to come.  I know what kind of information I
can get here may be of no use, but I know things are all happen and
meant for a reason, and maybe it is for us and for those who really
care to put our minds together and meet like this.

I am not who you have asked.  I am not from MN.  I was born and raised
in Sheboygan actually.  I moved to Milwaukee for school.  I only know
of one Hmong pastor in Sheboygan, and if you are who I think you are,
then you also know some of my siblings and my mom,  They attend your
church.  My brother and his wife maybe some what close to you and your
family.

That would be a great idea to form a committee.  Atleast to meet and
talk about what we can all do for those that care about the
circumstance.  There was little we could do for those that were
deported.  In a world where you don't matter much and for others to
make a decision for your future and the way we should live, we have
suffered all along way and through out history.  There are the goods
and bads in all society.  I know that some Hmong people have not made
the best choices also in the past.  We were prosecuted for many
reasons and not just for one.   The people with no land, It's
disheartening.  The people who can not thrive because of stupidity,
war, and hardship.  We are getting extinct, adapting to whatever land
we encounter and need to survive in.  I believe in living, and also
giving back.  No matter how poor, or how rich... it could be a service
that is of no cost to you monitarily but can be a donation of service
and use of resources we can give mentally and physically to one
another.

My thoughts on this issue is vast.  All I have are rough drafts and
pretty basic as well.  It is as all you stated in your second
paragraph.

" This committee can raise education
scholarship funds specific to support education in Laos, to build
schools, to pay teacher salaries, to provide teacher training and to
send
students to education oversea. "

That is perfect.  I would really like to go over seas myself and see
it first hand where the needs are. Only then can I really say anything
for sure.  I want to handle it all myself, and see where and what is
being done.  I don't want to depend on the words of someone else.  No
third parties.  I want to know where the funds are money is going to.
I want to see the results of the hard work as well.  Not just hearing
about it.  That is why I say I will pursue this more when I am done
with school. I will have more time.  At the moment it is just
connecting with people and resources to start it all.

I know the teachers are underpaind and undereducated.  That is where
we need to start.  I know that the children lack a support, routine,
and environment for learning.  Many live in really poor situations.
Some orphaned, some sick, some living in slums.  It would be awesome
to focus on the children at the moment primarily... but it would also
be great to create programs for children and adults for job trainings
in certain areas, so they can get out of proverty and not have so less
or few choices in making it in the world.  It could be as simple as
teaching people or providing them with the skiils to open buisnesses,
tailoring, sewing, and other kinds of simple jobs (beauty schools,
automotive job training, etc.), that will help them succeed in main
stream life too.

Let me know your ideas and thoughts.  Do feel free to email me.  I
don't feel so comfortable to post so much here.

Thank Nkauj Ntxoo Yaj

I know you and your brother well. Any way, you have a good potential
to do great thing but don't forget any thing must be understandable
and work out by a committee to over look the project. Do this will
avoid heat and problem. There are many directions to do. You can do
by private education system as church or by public education system
that's up to you.

There always right time and wrong time depend on how you want to
procees your goal. God bless
.
