Tswv Yim,
You're trying to imply that the Chinese, the Koreans, the Laotians,
and the Thais under Buddhism...and similarly, the Europeans and
Americans under Christianity or Catholicism...are such united people,
and therefore much more preferable, and in fact, should be emulated by
Hmong people...because what we have is just hogwash and outdated and
no longer serve our purpose? You mean to say these people have a
common religion that serves their purpose, and we don't, so we better
find one?
Haven't you heard of all the divisions and sects and atrocities under
and in the name of these great unifying religions you named? Have you
ever sat down and count how many denominations of Christianity there
are in the world, how many types of Buddhism there are, etc?
They are as divided, or probably much more so than the Hmong ever
dream to be. In comparison, the Hmong are actually quite united,
considering the vast span of history we've had to endured up to this
point.
