Re: drpao lao trip - photo (4). NLXX and VIP

Thank you for the pictures of beautiful, idyllic settings and charming
people.

Seeing how well you, Dr. Pao, were received I am tempted to arrange a
visit myself. The warm smiles on people's faces, the breaking of bread
(so to speak since it looks more like rice), and the apparent
camaraderie are very convincing about the LPDR's warming relations with
the Hmong. To fools, these pictures promote the illusion that the LPDR
is an oligarchy with aspirations of benevolence.

However, it is difficult for me to shake from my mind images of
poisoned, starved, dying and maimed children bearing the brunt of the
LDPR's vengence because they were born Hmong and their grandparents
supported the regime's enemies. LPDR apologists will counter that
these children suffer because of choices made by their parents. And
LPDR sympathizers will say that the LPDR was only responding to
terrorists. But as parents, we don't let our 10-year old beat into
submission his 4-year old brother even if the younger had purposely
stepped on the older child's foot!

I look at Dr. Pao's pictures and see the smiling sun burnt faces of the
LPDR. I see him eating with agents of the party responsible for a
policy of terror and genocide against the Hmong. I see the long row of
full dishes surrounded by fat members of the politburo and photos of
these swine gathered about Dr. Pao after they've had their fill. I
think of the murdered mothers and children; I think of the poisoned and
maimed Hmong and I am repulsed by what I see in the pictures.

Until the regime softens its heavy-handedness towards Laotian Hmong and
cracks down on corruption among its ranks, I remain unconvinced that
the LPDR is ready to welcome back its estranged brothers. Any "carrots"
offered to the unbending LPDR is simply acquiescence and reward for
vile conduct.

These pictures of such a distinguished Hmong dining with swine are
revolting because the main course being served wasn't fish but Hmong
nationalism and pride!
