You're wrong of a lot of things. You're wrong for continuing to
distinguish in your head between the two dialects as two ethnic groups.
There is only one Hmong ethnicity/culture; there are at least two
predominant dialects. Don't be stupid like westerners (and Chinese) and
classify Hmong people into groups as if they were mutually exclusive
ethnically by clothing, customs, dialects, geography, etc... Such
imaginary lines are drawn out of hatred and deceit. A clear case was
the cooked and raw Hmong, the former used against the latter in
extermination missions by ethnic Han.

Of course the Stepping Flowery Mountain is not "our" tradition. Tossing
balls is not other Hmong people's tradition too (I have heard that Taum
Choj do not practice this--not originally--it was retrofitted I
believe). But I'll tell you one thing that's true, it's not Valentine
either.
