The U.S. is in political or armed struggle with insurgents in Iraq,
Afghanistan, N. Korea, Iran, etc... It's only a common sense for the
U.S. government to say that there is little or nothing she can do to
help free the people in Laos; she can only do one thing at a time -
which has prompted the LPDR regime to think that she no longer
interested for a society of democratic principles in Laos. Therefore,
the LPDR has launched with an even tighter grip on her people by
mounting more military raids against democratic groups in Laos.
But let us remember that the United States and her people have been
involved in freeing more people on this planet than any other nation in
history. We, Americans, have made deals with one dictorship (Stalin of
the former Soviet Union, for example) in order to battle with another
more dangerous dictatoship (Hitler of Germany) or China over Japan. We
are now making temporary deals with the LPDR to stop narcotics
trafficing and harboring Al Queda and Saddam Loyalists. Some of these
deals, believe me, have been downright shameful and very un-American.
But in general the U.S. have supported democracy in every nation.
After World War II, the U.S. even freed its former enemies in west
Germany and Japan. During and after the Korean War, we protected South
Korea, which has enjoyed infinitely more freedom than North Korea. In
the Vietnam War, the U.S. has tried to give the South Vietnamese and
Laotians the same chance for democracy and freedom, but the cause
fell short, and today all of the people live under repressive police
states. People can cry
all they want about 'forgive and forget' but the U.S. state of mind can
never be set free until freedom and democracy is installed in Laos.
Laos may not be in the U.S. best interest. It lacks the natural
resource like oil and posses no military threat like the Arabic
countries but it's uncharacteristic and against the U.S. principle to
just let her dictators triumph.
During the Cold War, the U.S. pressed for freedom in Eastern Europe,
and in 1989, the pressure paid off with the fall of the Berlin Wall and
the Iron Curtain. The end of the Soviet Union also made it easier to
bring democracy to Latin America. With encouragement from the U.S.,
every nation in the Western Hemisphere, except Cuba, now has atleast
the beginnings of democracy. North Korea is the U.S. top agenda in
Asia; China is already a partner with the U.S. on trade; Vietnam and
Laos will be next unless the stone aged Lao PDR dictators can
miriculously transform.
After the Persian Gulf War, when the U.S. expelled Saddam Hussein from
Kuwait, the U.S. could have kept Kuwait's oil fields and some of
Iraq's, too, but all the oil fields were turned back to those
countries. Kuwait is experimenting with democratic reforms, and the
U.S. is pushing harder to support democratic rule in all Arab
countries. As we speak, the U.S. could easily occupy Iraq after Saddam
and his regime misserably fell, but instead we gave the country back to
the people - with leaders that will be elected by the people and a
government that will be ruled by the people.
The principal force threatening freedom and humanity today is not an
American backed democracy. It is a dictatorship regime; it's the rogue
states. In the 20th century, no two democracies went to war with each
other. Todaay, it would only be foolish for the U.S. to attack the
people who share her dream or completely abandone democratic
supporters, like many democratic movements in Laos. In the 20th
century, dictatorships (start with Hitler, Ho-Chi-Minh, Keysone, Pol
Pot, Saddam, Hiro Hito, and Stalin) killed more of their own people
than all the world's wars combined. Democracy not only gives each
individual more opportunity for self-expression, its institutions
protect people from death at the
dictator's whim. Democracy is still far from perfect, but its openness
and accountability are the best ways to protect each human's right to
life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Laos, too, is subjected to
be accountable; it's no exception.
As China's dictators finally are beginning to see, dictatorship itself
is the only thing holding back China today. If the Chinese people were
set free to be themselves, they would immediately overwhelm the world
peacefully with their most respectful culture and work ethics. Taiwan
would want to rejoin the mainland, and all the world would gain from
China's new advances in the arts, literature and sciences. More than 1
billion newly freed
people would be a powerful force for progress in the 21st Century.
So the LPDR and the few Lao Hmong opportunists may want to forget their
obsession with the U.S. possible withdrawal to support freedom and
democratic movements in Laos. The U.S. wants the people of every
nation to choose their own way. Free all the world, and finally we
would be able to spend less time worrying about how not to offend
killer dictators, and more time debating how to feed, house, protect
and educate all of us in the name of freedom, peace and harmony.
We, the people of all ethnicities, will one day shout with Dr. Martin
Luther King's "Free At Last" and truely enjoy people like PROFESSOR HER
LAO excercising his free of the free liberal mind.

Les Etats-Unis sont dans la lutte politique ou armée avec les

dire qu'il y a peu ou rien elle peut faire pour aider à libérer les
gens au Laos; elle peut seulement faire une chose à la fois - qui a

société de principes démocratiques au Laos. Donc, le LPDR s'est
lancé avec une prise encore plus serrée sur ses gens en montant plus

ont été impliqués dans la libération de plus de personnes sur cette

et la démocratie est installé au Laos. Le Laos peut ne pas être dans
les Etats-Unis intéressent le mieux . Il ne manque des ressources
minérales comme le pétrole et les troupes aucune menace militaire
comme les pays arabes mais c'est peu habituel et contre le principe
américain pour juste laisser son triomphe de dictateurs.
Pendant la Guerre froide, les Etats-Unis ont fait pression pour obtenir
la liberté en Europe de l'Est et en 1989, la pression remboursée avec
la chute du Mur de Berlin et du Rideau de fer. La fin de l'Union
soviétique a aussi rendu plus facile d'apporter la démocratie en
Amérique latine. Avec l'encouragement des Etats-Unis, chaque nation
dans l'Hémisphère Occidental, sauf la Cuba, a maintenant atleast les
débuts de démocratie. La Corée du Nord est l'ordre du jour
supérieur américain en Asie; la Chine est déjà un partenaire avec

serait seulement fou pour les Etats-Unis pour attaquer les gens qui
partagent son rêve ou complètement abandone les supporters

Si les gens chinois ont été libérés pour être eux, ils
submergeraient immédiatement le monde paisiblement avec leur culture
la plus respectueuse et éthique de travail. Le Taiwan voudrait
rejoindre le territoire continental et tout le monde gagnerait des
nouvelles avances de Chine dans les arts, la littérature et les
sciences. Plus de 1 milliard de personnes nouvellement libérées
seraient une force puissante pour le progrès au 21e siècle.
Donc le LPDR et peu de Lao Hmong les opportunistes peuvent vouloir
oublier leur obsession avec le retrait possible américain pour
soutenir la liberté et les mouvements démocratiques au Laos. Les
Etats-Unis veulent que les gens de chaque nation choisissent leur
propre voie. Libérez tout le monde et finalement nous serions capables
de passer moins de temps en s'inquiétant au sujet de comment ne pas
offenser des dictateurs de tueur et plus de temps en discutant comment
nourrir, loger, protéger et instruire nous tous au nom de la liberté,
la paix et l'harmonie.
Nous, les gens de tout ethnicities, un jour crierons avec Dr Martin
Luther King "Libre Finalement" et apprécierons vraiment les gens comme
le PROFESSEUR SON LAO excercising son sans l'esprit libéral libre.
