The Lahaina Whaling Spree was fun, I worked for Pioneer Mill during
years this went on. I even won the plantation prize of $25 for the
beard one of the years. Yes, there was booze, but when wasn't there
in Lahaina. "Oh, when it's Saturday night in Lahaina, wishing and
a great melody. A few of our children remember it, but I'm afraid
is about to be lost.
I just ran across this old thread and had to put my two cents worth
first of October eight alumni of Pioneer and their wives are holding a
reunion at the balloon festival in Albuquerque. We all worked there
early '60s. Thanks for listening!!
Wow, at one point my grand father worked for Pioneer too (Caleb
Burns). My grand mother was born at Honolua:). Memories.
You will have a reunion in Albuquerque???????? :) Sounds like fun.
Have a blast!
Hard to believe that plantation days are so over, having been an Amfac
plantation person, myself. Not Lahaina though- more like Kahuku and
roast beans to kona to email
