hey everyone -
we have a new project that we wanted to have tested... its basically
to help keep people aware of any traffic situations. Yes the radio
report is good - BUT its not always when you want to hear it or where
the accident is... so this system will be able to be on-demand as well
as area specific. Basically it was inspired from a website called
www.digg.com where people can post news and information - based on
community votes the system will either promote or delete certain post.
think of this as a voice forum - similar to something you'd have on
the internet. the idea could be taken and expanded from traffic to
lowest gas prices - any small bit of relevant up-to-date information
that needs to be shared with the masses would be a perfect candidate
for this system... right now we're focusing on traffic. So, if your
driving home and see an accident or find a way around traffic, please
call 356-2978 and post your experience. anyone else traveling along
that route (eventually we'll have it broken into areas) will be able
to call into 356-2978 and get updates.
Example:
Aryn reports @ 3pm "Traffic accident on Pali Lookout - go to the
Likelike"
Sean drives the Pali @ 4pm and sees that Aryn's report is no longer
valid, he can vote to have the post deleted.
- IF the accident was still there @ 4pm, Sean can vote
to promote the report - so more people avoid the Pali.

when you call it you will be presented w/ options
Press 1 to listen to messages about traffic
- when listening to messages about traffic, you will be able
to rate the message - so if someone is talking bubbles or cussing up a
storm, you can delete the post
- after listening to a message :
- Press 1 for valid messages
- Press 2 if the person is wasting your time (it'll
delete the post so others don't waste time)
Press 2 to report messages about traffic
- simply speak where there is traffic and the system will
automatically store and play it to the world
any feed back would be appreciated.

system the more efficient it becomes
