Hey there,
I'll be visiting Makaha with my Thai fiancee
next week, and am wondering where we can find a
comprehensive Asian market, for groceries. I've
picked up some SE Asian produce at the small shops
near Hotel St. in the past, but I can't help but
think that there must be something bigger, somewhere
on the island.
Also would be interested in any recommendations
for Thai restaurants.
Anybody?
Thanks!
If you don't want to go all the way into Honolulu,
there's a Thai restaurant that opened up nearby in
Pearl City. A little pricy and I don't know if it's
still in business. It's muted the firery taste of thai
food.
The Don Quoixte store in Pearl City has a lot of stuff
in it's oriental fool section, but IIRC it's mostly
chinese, and Japanese. Also, quite often the farmer's
markets which are in city parks at scheduled times may
have some produce also grown in SE asia-- for example,
fresh durian.
