Who said anything about "preventing"? The feds'
lunch programing funding places limits on spending--
so-called strings.
Okay, does the federal program specifically say that
the school district cannot pay for lunches when the
parents do not apy for the their part of the cost of
the lunch?
The article simply states that feds do not permit the
state to use the revenue from school lunches to pay the
tab on these deadhead parents.
I did not say that. I also think that the teachers
and staff should not have to use their own hard
earned money to feed these kids
I don't think that you have said anything but that
the parents should pay. But we don't disagree there.
So what's your point here? To reply to my point here
that you didn't make that point is kind of obvious.
I never said that. When did I say that. What I have
been arguing for, and some in the schoold district
agree with, is it is better to feed the children a
good meal vs. one that is not. Regardless of whether
the parents pay their part of the cost of the meal.
What is a "good" meal? It could be cheap and different,
and still meet minimal standards. Kids would probably
not want to eat it. This is a side issue. Schools don't
want to provide bad meals to students. Why even bring
the subject up.
