In today's Star-Bulletin,

Looks like the House will discuss a repeal of the caps
and more transparency to determine how much we are
being overcharged, while the Senate will discuss slight
modifications of the cap that may further reduce costs
by 16 cents. The eventual bill will emerge from
conference.
There you go again Alvin, you cannot be "overcharged". The term is an
invention of people like you and of those who want to sell the idea of
infringing on a companies right to do business. There is no standard
definition of what the term means, that can apply to all businesses.
House members are already dubious about the information
that they can get. Well after all, even a suit by the
last state administration was not successfull in
getting all that information. There were independent
efforts. But this time, the Lingle administration has
as it's attorney general, the lawyer who defended the
oil companies. So perhaps now all this information will
be easily got?
Not a chance in you know what.
Here's a quote from the article....
"Not only do we need to look at transparency -- as far
as revealing the true cost and the fair rate of return
for the oil companies -- but how do you get the PUC to
implement the law most vigorously to benefit the
consumers," said House Majority Leader Marcus Oshiro
(D, Wahiawa-Poamoho). "Our review of the PUC's actions
of the past six months leave my confidence shaken in
its ability to enforce the law to benefit consumers."
By leaving things as they were before they started thinking they are
smarter
than the oil companies perhaps? Before thinking that the socialist
model
has been a failure everywhere it has been tried perhaps?
