[PA] HARA Lifetime Achievement Awards luncheon
The following message is directed at the musicians of Hawai`i:
As soon as I was able to attend the HARA Lifetime Achievement
Award by just hopping on an inter-island flight, I did. Much
as I enjoyed the event, I was sorely disappointed at the light
attendance -- especially by the younger, newer island musicians.
To be the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award requires that
the recipient not only be held in high esteem by the members of
HARA, but also that s/he has been active in the island music
community for _decades_.
Someday -- if you're lucky -- you who are still too young to
have been in the business for decades, may be considered for
the Award. Who will come to your Awards luncheon???
Please, please mark Saturday March 4 on your calendar, and plan
to attend the Awards luncheon to honor these great kupuna who
have paved the way for _you_ in the Hawaiian music industry.
Details will be forthcoming, and will be posted on the HARA site:
