About 10 years ago, the owner of Gillies--Donald Schoenholt- told me
that there were 2 gran cru coffees. Kona was one with some JBM the
other. Perhaps there are others evolving but Donald, himself:), told
me. Life goes on.

I was trying to explain the weather differences from our microclimate
here in Kona, on steep land indeed. We have markedly different
weather from any other place in Hawaii because we are in the lee of
Mauna Loa and Hualalai.

WE tend to have rainy summers and drier winters than most places. If
it is raining in Hilo, it is dry here.
