Re: Vodou, Christianity, Words of Men & Mouths of Gods

Because the Bible clearly states that no one can say Jesus is Lord but
by God.

So any spirit that sais Jesus is Lord must be of God. The infallible
word of God sais so right?

1 Corinthians 12:3 Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking
by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that
Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

Wrong, the Bible says "no man" or no human being. It does not say "no one",
as you said, or "no spirit".

Here is aquestion for you Jules, what do the Lwa say about Jesus?

Because if they acknowledge him as lord then............
Well, what does the infallible Word of God say again about such
situations?

It is true that loas, or demonic spirits know that Jesus Christ is Lord and
are in great fear of him. Here is an account of an encounter Jesus had with
a demon who recognized him, worshipped him, and begged him gor merci.

Mark 5:1-17 And they came over unto the other side of the sea, into the
country of the Gadarenes. And when he was come out of the ship, immediately
there met him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit, Who had his
dwelling among the tombs; and no man could bind him, no, not with chains:
Because that he had been often bound with fetters and chains, and the chains
had been plucked asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces: neither
could any man tame him. And always, night and day, he was in the mountains,
and in the tombs, crying, and cutting himself with stones. But when he saw
Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him, And cried with a loud voice, and
said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of the most high God? I
adjure thee by God, that thou torment me not. For he said unto him, Come out
of the man, thou unclean spirit. And he asked him, What is thy name? And he
answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. And he besought him
much that he would not send them away out of the country. Now there was
there nigh unto the mountains a great herd of swine feeding. And all the
devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into
them. And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out,
and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place
into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea.
And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the
country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. And they come
to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion,
sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid. And they
that saw it told them how it befell to him that was possessed with the
devil, and also concerning the swine. And they began to pray him to depart
out of their coasts.

Here's another one:

Acts 19:13-17 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them
to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying,
We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And there were seven sons of one
Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit
answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? And the
man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and
prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and
wounded. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at
Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was
magnified.

Now, you said in another post that one of your relatives was a Mambo
and that you have seen Vodou ceremonies for yourself.

That is true, but I would never advise anyone to ever allow curiosity to
cause them to even be a spectator in a Voodoo ceremony.

For one thing the loas don't like spectators. They only want participants,
and will do everything to enlist your cooperation throughout the ceremony,
so they can accuse you in front of God as co-conspirators, who deserve to be
cursed as they are.

When a loa first comes to the scene, they usually offer a handshake to
everyone around as a sign of friendship. Immediately, one is faced with a
conflict, because as a child of God, one is not supposed to shake hand with
a demon who is in Satan's camp.

So what is one supposed to do, reject the handshake? But the service if
offered for demons. It is you who is the tresspasser. It is their territory,
and they are the invited guests. The people have spent hundreds of dollars
to invite them there. If anyone is out of place it is you.

They will continue to get you to participate, by asking you to hold the
animals down, as they are being slaughtered. They will engage you in
conversation, asking you if there's anything they can do for you. All the
while your conscience tells you that you don't belong there.

Success in a Voodoo ceremony is determined by the number of people who
become possessed. Especially those who experience it for the first in their
life. The best way to guarantee that one does not become possessed by a
demon is to not frequent Voodoo ceremonies, because a Voodoo ceremony is
nothing but a church service where people are engaged in singing hymns in
honor of demons begging them to come out and possess them

Jules.
