Exception pour Simeus ?

Simeus demande aux haitiens de manifester leur mécontentement auprès du CEP
pour la validation de sa candidature. Se présentant comme victime, il
souhaite qu'on en appelle aux médias pour faire pression sur le conseil.
Et puis quoi encore ! Parce que Monsieur est riche il doit bénéficier de
passe-droit ? Cet homme vit à l'étranger depuis une quarantaine d'années. De
nationalité étrangère, il ne paie pas d'impôt en Haïti et n'y pas de
domicile mais veut devenir président du pays. Dites-moi donc, croyez-vous
que ce serait acceptable aux USA ou dans tout autre pays respectable ? Des
haïtiens vivant au Cameroun, en France, au Zaïre, en Belgique, au Canada...
etc. devraient eux aussi imposer leurs candidatures au poste de la
magistrature suprême d'Haïti. Après tout, ils ne sont pas industriels et ont
donc du temps à consacrer à la gestion des affaires du pays et surtout ils
sont compétents. Qu'il puisse jouir du droit de vote est une chose qui
devrait se faire pour tous les ressortissants haïtiens vivants à l'étranger.
Mais prétendre au fauteuil de président du pays demande tout de même
quelques conditions particulières qui sont autant de précautions pour éviter
la mainmise étrangère, déjà si forte, à un poste aussi important. Ainsi l'
âge, une bonne moralité, la durée de l'élection de domicile sont, par
exemple, quelques-unes unes des conditions requises dans certains pays. En
France, même pour être sénateur il y a des conditions draconiennes alors
comprenez que pour être président c'est encore plus délicat.
Si Monsieur Simeus veut aider le pays il y a plusieurs moyens. D'abord qu'il
commence par lui montrer du respect en respectant la loi et les institutions
haïtiennes. Ensuite il peut investir en Haïti et créer des emplois. Mais il
peut aussi financer les projets de développements locaux. En contribuant de
façon active et désintéressée à l'éclosion d'idées conduisant au progrès et
en élisant domicile en Haïti, au moins pendant quelques temps, il se
qualifierait pour se porter candidat aux élections présidentielles
suivantes.
Monsieur Simeus pourrait être un bon candidat certes. Il ne fait pas de
doute qu'il pourrait apporter de sa compétence à la gestion des affaires du
pays. Mais vivant dans un pays supposé respectueux des lois électorales il
aurait dû préparer depuis longtemps son entrée dans la course présidentielle
dans un pays si vulnérable et si perméable aux influences étrangères et dont
ce dernier a tant souffert. Il est peu probable que, cet homme, certainement
connu aux USA, se soit réveillé un matin en se disant qu'il allait se
présenter aux présidentielles haïtiennes. A moins qu'une voix ne l'en ait
convaincu. Celle de .. l'oncle Tom.
