"Food-for-work" is another name for slavery.
Pay people cash and let them buy their food!
A vetiver planting project is not a peristyle
membership, where people gather by choice,
cook together, work together and eat together.

"Food-for-work" depresses local economies,
because the small marketers lose customers
when people get "food-for-work" instead of
being paid cash which they then use to buy
food. "Food-for-work" is NO GOOD.

When we harvest vetiver we cut it and it grows
right back up again, we don't uproot it.
