Re: Prices of food stuffs in Germany

Hi there,
living in Munich here, and giving you some estimates what about to expect ....

a) what is the price of a single bread roll (Broetchen) that one uses with a
hot dog ;
40-50 Eurocent, cheaper if you don't buy in a bakery, but in a Supermarket

b) what is the price of a Bockwurst or Bratwurst from a street vendor ;
I'd expect about 3-4 Euros, 5 Euros if you catch a real expensive one (for hot Bockwurst or Bratwurst)

c) what is the price of a single patty hamburger with lettuce and tomatoes
but no cheese, say from McDonald located in Cologne or Munich or any such
bigger cities;
about 2 Euros, sometimes there are discount times with 1 hamburger for 1 Euro

d) what is the price of a medium portion of Pomme Fritte (french fries) ;
about the same as for the Hamburger
e) what is the price of a 'zwei Scheibe Schinken in a Broetchen', if I buy
it from a Delikatessen .
depending on the class of Delikatessen shop you're buying from: 2 to 4 Euros
f) what is price of a glass of Pepsi or Coke or Orangesaft.
2 to 2,50 Euros

...Perhaps, by now, you begin to understand that what I am trying to do is to
find out how much it would cost me in a regular German city for my daily
lunch or supper.
By the way, if I have come to a wrong Newsgroup for help please excuse me ;
in that case would you please direct me to the right Newsgroup or are there
websites in Germany which may be able to provide me with the information I
am seeking? In any case, thank you all for any help you can offer me in this
regard!

Greetings,

George
