Internships in large German multinational companies

I'm planning to apply for Industrial experience (also known as an
internship) at a large German company for at least 6 weeks, hopefully
more. What's the general policy regarding payment of wages to students
while on such an Internship? Are only accomodation and meals provided?
or is a salary provided as well?
