Few days ago I posted this :
"Kemal Ataturk said " Islam, this absurd theology from an immoral
bedouin, is
a putrified cadaver which stink our life out"
So, I'm unable to understand how Turks, muslim by 90%, can claim to
be Kemalist and laïcs..,??? It's beyond my understanding...Can some
one explain that to me ?"
And not even one answer ? Is it to much for some to explain it to
me ?
Whene someone makes a staement like this (in this case Kemal
Ataturk) one can reasonablmy asdsume that they think Islam stinks.
So what is theprobleme with being Kemalist and laïc? I would say
that that is logical and I can't really uderstand your problem.
It's not my problem John...But the problem of Turks...On one side
they say that they are laïc(and perhaps Kemalist) and on the other
hand they are at 90% Muslims...
Kind of schizophrenic situation...Don't think so ?
Not at all, until recently France could have claimed to be a Catholic
country (the Eldest Daughter of the Church as they say) but nevertheless
it has had a secular regime fora long time now. The one is personal, the
other is national.
I agree with that..But not one French President said something like that
against the Catholic Religion, even the worst anticlerical of the IIIrd
Republic. And it must be also taken into account that the islamic religion
interferes more than any other in the daily life of people, by imposing
clothing , laws (sharia), what to eat or not etc.
