Unthinkable? We had Edith Cresson as prime minister. Right now Michelle
Alliot Marie is in charge of minister of defense.
It is just that there is a lot of inertia in political parties.
Ségolène attracts sympathy but it is not enough to make a president.
Especially in France where people expect their future president to have
been through numerous trials and fights during his life, to have been
beaten in former elections and eventually succeed. Ségolène is
globally untried on a national basis and though she is the boss in a
region it might not be enough. It seems to me like another Balladur but
from the left : promising but in the end not very lasting and enduring.
