30 million dollars does not seem much
It looks much more heftier than $10M. US is a little bit concerned by
China's, and to a lesser extent, Australia's offers of increased
military assistance including personnel.

If you can still recall the U.S. outcry over Pinas' pullout from Iraq,
PGMA immediately went on a state visit to PRC and arranged for bilateral
conferences between defense ministers. She actually took SND with her
on the trip. That diplomatic ploy worked like a freakin' charm and hit
home in D.C.! You gotta give her credit for many things, and this is
one of them. Also proves Da Lady has guts longer than a mere mile.- Hide quoted text -

i have always advocated letting the players play againts each other
by pitting them like spiders in a stick . other countries have
done that like an art form .

Yeah. The U.S. actually expected her to come groveling and asking for forgiveness. Instead, she went for Uncle Sammy's nuts and squeezed instead of licking. The U.S. official attitude adjustment was quite apparent and immediate.
