30 million dollars does not seem much

It looks much more heftier than $10M. US is a little bit concerned by China's, and to a lesser extent, Australia's offers of increased military assistance including personnel.

If you can still recall the U.S. outcry over Pinas' pullout from Iraq, PGMA immediately went on a state visit to PRC and arranged for bilateral conferences between defense ministers. She actually took SND with her on the trip. That diplomatic ploy worked like a freakin' charm and hit home in D.C.! You gotta give her credit for many things, and this is one of them. Also proves Da Lady has guts longer than a mere mile.
