conditions.

As I understand it, with very few waivers given, officers must have
4-year bachelor's degrees, at least, and that is just one of many
requirements. Groundpounders have been known to regularly hurdle this
by simply going to college. It may take them 10 years to get their
degrees, but once they get it they may apply for commission and the
services are usually happy and eager to lasso these ambitious mustangs,
and waive lots of requirements such as age limitations.
with the regular soldiers pay in the pinas many could not afford to
go to a 4 year college. have you even seen some of the pitiful
housing they live in with their family?
Military camps, which I wonder, because I remember friends who lived
there years ago because of lack of housing for military personnel, they
were military brats wihtout housing.
I had been thinking that those who retired probably wether still live
there as squatters or they moved on and left their hovel to those who
stayed there.
If you have a degree and meet other requirements, will you enlist or
will you apply for commission (if required to serve)?
works in the us . it doesnt apply much in the third world setting.
different realities.
I'm wondering at your pejorative use of "elite." It may be a negative
term in the Philippines, but those who join the elite through their own
hard work and ambition and driven by the desire to do nothing but serve
honorably should be protected from the vile and venom of people like you.
again you are comparing pinas to the us. apples and bayabas. most of
the elite[ not the regular masses] who can afford the pretty things
in life would not be caught dead joining the regular soldiers.
thats like joining hell since it has shitty pay, poor conditions.
most would rather do something else than make their family suffer
needlessly. its a sad situation but that is reality in the pinas.
welcome to the pinas. > >
But I know, you feel sorry for those content to be groundpounders, with
no higher ambition than to make corporal or buck sergeant, and contented
with their high school education, AND HAPPY WHERE THEY ARE. Personally,
I have nothing but disdain for these slacker motherfuckers unless there
are very strong, compelling reasons why they cannot pull themselves up
by the bootstraps.
increase their pay and benefits and they wouldnt mind pulling
themselves by their bootstraps. they do not want to be cannon
fodder but for many the military is the only way to survive
5 when i was still there ive seen my share of abuse from uniformed
people. when others complained nothing is done . they can get
reamed but they are not kicked out . one of my bro in law was
berated lots of times but he is still in the navy with guns.
Are you sure? "Guns" in the Navy are what civilian wiennies call by the
generic term "cannons." WAY TO GO! Why settle for a .50 caliber handgun?
he was the armory boss now he is with the mp. when he gets drunk
he shoots that thing of his into the air .
The navy don't have cannons, they have guns. I don't really know if
anybody uses cannons anymore. A definition of a gun maybe appropriate here.
