A happy ending

This is one story that has a happy ending. It's happiness falls on many
different levels. First of all, the lady is happy that she will hopefully
never endure another beating, second, her child is safe, third, it is hoped
that in doing the right thing that good old Custodio stayed alive in the
flames long enough to be able to contemplate his situation thoroughly.

Jealous hubby sets self on fire

His suspicion that his live-in partner was having an affair prompted a man
to beat up the woman and then kill himself by setting their house on fire
yesterday dawn. Custodio Tipdas, 62, was found lifeless and in a thoroughly
charcoal state in the kitchen floor of his house in Sitio Kalubihan,
Barangay Pundol, Balamban, Cebu.

He allegedly tried to drag Norma Dalugdog, 56, to her death also but she was
able to run.

According to PO2 Rañelito Villarino, Tipdas was separated from his legal
wife and has sired a child with Dalugdog, typical behavior among tricycle
driver Filipinos.
