most of the Filipinos that we met during our travels fancy eating good food, and most of the pinoys enjoy cooking, but I can hardly categorized them as chubby :)

The Manila Pavilion Hotel early April launched the opening of their
restaurant Seasons, and I was invited to the evening launch with PR and
media associates. The launch mainly consisted of an open buffet and
started from 8pm to almost midnight.

I went to help myself to a plate of Asian and Western dish, and the
first plate, I filled with salad and some sushi. On my next plate, I
took a small helping of paella, two slices of roast beef and soft
shelled crabs.

Then I had dessert. I felt contented.

I think I must have finished eating everything in less than an hour,
but around me, I had other Filipino companions who not only piled their
dishes high with the food, but went out more than five times to have
refills. And they continued to eat and eat for the next three hours.

They tell me when I laugh at them for saying "Next round ..." that
eating makes them happy and Filipinos love to be happy. Now, I agree
with that - I'm always miserable if I have to "diet" even if it means
loosing two-pounds off from my normal 108-lbs everytime I travel back
to the Philippines and join family and friends for meals.

But what I want to know is if it's really true that Filipinos acquaint
being happy with eating? And are Filipinos generally chubby? :)
