Pinas does not need air superiority fighters; we need counterinsurgency and ground support aircraft. Doesn't PAF have the Bronco? That's the perfect COIN airiopleyn, and there shouldn't be any trouble converting civilian Cessnas and Beechcraft. They come out of the factory with underwing hard points.
And a few Stingers wouldn't hurt the morale of ground troops.
Exactly! If any country will invade us, a few junkety F-5 won't stop even the Vietnamese Air Force with its Migs. I believe that what we need is a cheaper air defence system which could include Stinger missiles, Vulcan Air defense system, Oerlikon guns, or Bofors anti-aircraft missiles.
I agree with just about every comment here. My wish list for PAF: A-10 Tank Killers AH-64 Apache F-15 F-16 F/A-18 (so that we can have decent air shows!)
If you want air shows, the F-16 is your best candidate, followed far behind by the F-15. No heavy fighter, specially those extra heavy carrier capable Navy pieces of *** can perform aerobatics like the cheapo F-16.
Really? What was the name of that team, "Blue Angels" right? I think they use F-18.
Yep, the Navy Blue Angels fly the Hornet. And that's why the Air Farce Thunderbrides can kick their ass when tt comes to performance because they fly the smaller, more aerobatic but much cheaper F-16.
Oh, and if we can have russion aircraft, why not a Mig-25 Foxbat. :-)
I prefer fission aircraft. Or even the fussion variety. Doesn't matter which kind we get. :-D
