I think the point is that outside of the Philippines Tagalog is functionally
a dead language. Let any child learn any work of art, or book, or research
in Tagalog and what you end up with is a learned adult that can't
communicate about his/her knowledge outside of their native country. All
major treatises used to be written in French. Now it is in English. That's
the way of the world. I didn't start it, but I certainly recognize it
exists. Those who expect that Tagalog will become a world leading language
would better spend their time waiting for horses to become the dominant
means of transportation once again.
