If you've just surfed in.
Mabuhay! Means Welcome!
You could become our newest member, look at the links and files for info on
many things in the Philippines, IMHO "Paradise on Earth" an English speaking
country full of smiling people, safe, low living costs and many expats and
tourists from around the World.
This group was created to give information about the Philippines and it now
has a range of information available covering many subjects.
If you wish to copy/paste links or files, then please do so, you don't have
to be a member to do that.
Links were not visible before, due to incorrect settings. This has now been
fixed, my thanks to Paul Petrea of LivinginCebu and others for their help,
assistance and support.
This group was renamed on Sunday 19th June, fathers day, also the birthday
of José Rizal, patriot, physician and man of letters whose life and literary
works were an inspiration to the Philippine nationalist movement.
If you just want to browse then "It's up to you" as they say in the
Philippines.
I hope you find something of interest.
Should you join, you may wish to add your details to the database.
That's something I never thought of till Syd8uk posted the suggestion.
If you have any suggestions/changes you would like to see just post it. If
you don't want it posted publicly just Email me at jim441294@xxxxxxxxx mark
it "Private" it will not appear here but you will receive a reply.
If you have anything to sell, post it once only. NB no spamming.
Then it's up to members if they buy. NB Caveat Emptor (buyer beware)
If you have a question to ask just ask, you will get a constructive answer.
If you disagree with a post then correct the error or contact the poster
direct.
"Flame wars", don't start one here, when you join you are unmoderated, don't
abuse it or you will be moderated.
NB "unmoderated" group, not a swearing/slanging group, if you want or need
that go elsewhere.
So keep it clean and civil.

This group is dedicated to the Westerners who have chosen to live in the
beautiful mountain city of Baguio in the Philippines. It is a place to
discuss your experiences, ask for and dispense advice and to provide
information regarding events which may be of interest. Please be polite and
refrain from profanity.
Please note that any transactions entered into with members or visitors to
this group will be at your own risk. Please take care to verify that all
purchases, rentals and other offers are genuine.
We do not object to a little advertising or promotion related to the
Philippines but these messages should be short and if there is a lot of
information provide a link! Messages that go on for pages simply clog up the
system and our member's mail boxes.

This is a Group for persons British, and their spouses; either Living in the
Philippines, particularly Cebu, or considering doing so.
Unlike other Yahoo Groups dedicated to the Philippines, its people,
cultures, and more specifically Cebu, this Yahoo Group - 'Philippines
BritClub', is only open to members with a British Passport!
The only purpose behind this stipulation, is to keep the message postings
focused on those topics of interest to Brits.
Be it a topic on NI Contributions Pension entitlements, or less serious like
moaning about the lack of 'Real Ale'. You may be seeking someone to bring
out a jar of 'Branston Pickle'. You could be thinking "Is there any decent,
proper 'British Banger' sausages?". Where can one buy some 'Coleman's
Mustard', and other things like proper 'Malt vinegar'?. "Are there any
restaurants offering a decent curry in Cebu" etc.!
Hopefully this is where to ask such questions, and find out the answers.
>From those Brits who understand, who care, and will try and find out - even
if they don't know; anything for a fellow Brit - no?
This is also to be a forum for posting details of Social events for Cebu
BritClub members - having a 'Get Together' at different restaurants. The odd
game of 'Darts' now and again - we might invite the odd non-Brit to join in
sometimes.
Enjoy,
