Then there's also the fact that few are really serious about
linguistics. It's an evil circle: the Esperanto-speakers are the only
people who really need scientific linguistics, so there are few
resources allocated, and because the field is underfunded and
unfocused, the results rarely are of any use for Esperanto. This again
undermines the prestige of linguistic science within Esperanto
circles, and therefore we tend to overlook those linguistic findings
that actually could be used for promoting the cause!
