Help needed translating English interface to Esperanto

I apologize for posting in English, but I suppose it's just as well since the target audience I'm looking for is English speakers.
I'm a computer programmer, and "perpetual beginner" with Esperanto. I've been reading learning the language off-and-on for the past couple of decades, but never quite reached a respectable level of proficiency due to the long lapses between periods of interest. However, I'm in another "period of interest" at the moment and have been doing some programming work to benefit the Esperanto community.
I'm a big fan of the small open-source word processor AbiWord, and am writing a free plugin that lets AbiWord translate "x-convention" typing into Esperanto-accented characters as you type. In other words, type "cx" and it's automatically converted to c-with-circumflex. That effort is almost complete now. However, when I release it I would like to be able to bundle it in with a version of AbiWord where the entire user interface is in Esperanto... creating a "pure Esperanto" word processor.
AbiWord is well designed for internationalization... all of the user interface's text strings ("Open", "Save As...", etc) are pulled from properties files, and there are translated properties files for dozens of languages. Unfortunately, I fear that my Esperanto is too poor to do a proper job with the translation by myself. I'm therefore hoping to find some more experienced volunteers who would be willing to donate time helping to translate some of the 1500 strings making up the entire user interface. I can break them up in chunks and coordinate things across multiple volunteers via email.
If you would like to help out with a little open source development and help create a pure Esperanto word processor for the community, please send an email to "steve" at "steveperkins.net". Thanks!
