Grouping is not an invention of the economies of mass production or the
industrial revolution. The Biblical story of Babel was one of the earliest
recorded stories of group formation. The early human desire for relating to
other beings was also demonstrated in the story of Eve and Adam.

Adam and Eve related to one another to form a family. They both lived for an
undetermined time in the Garden of Eden without finding any pleasure in a
certain apple tree. They were already aware that the fruits of that tree
could bring knowledge of good and evil but they did not care to eat from it
because they instinctively trusted God.

[And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in
the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die."] Genesis 2:15-17

The apple tree only became pleasurable when another creature that they
related to suggested to them that they were in some "danger" of losing out
on their full potential if they obeyed God's word. It was the first
conspiracy theory that was ever introduced in man's life.

"You will not surely die," the serpent said to the woman. "For God knows
that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God,
knowing good and evil." Genesis 3:4-5

In other words, the fruits of that tree were not tempting to the eyes by
themselves nor were they desirable, to Adam and Eve, for attaining wisdom
until man's desire to form a group with another being became a culture for
fear of conspiracies. A culture of victimhood where Adam and Eve were made
to think of themselves as victims, in the abscence of God.

Collectives thrive and are consumed by conspiracies. Collectives are
victims of conspiracies.

Similarly, false prophets came, after Jesus Christ, to convince people that
the word of God had been falsified in order for them to set freely new rules
based on their territorial and dominance ambitions. Their followers were
deceived by the conspiracy theory (that the word of God had been falsified)
in the same way that Adam and Eve were deceived by the Serpent to doubt the
word of God.

[When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and
pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some
and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate
it.] Genesis 3:6
