This so-called "opposition" of yours has so little pubic support that,
as you yourself have conceded, it would not even exist without foreign
(mostly US) bankrolling. Some time ago, you wrote:
Your misquote.
No misquote, Mr. Lobbyist. We have your own words.
"To be able to function they [Cuban dissidents] need aid...They can
only function with international help... The US aid gives them the
means to survive. " http://groups.google.ca/group/soc.culture.cuba/msg/3b60f00005050898?hl=en
Link doesn't work.
Try it again. Are you now denying you said this?
Also, from Wayne Smith, former head of the US Interests Section in
Havana:
Post a direct link, Dan.
It's from a book, idiot!
[snip]"Since 1985, we have stated publicly that we will encourage and openly
finance dissident and human rights groups in Cuba; this, too, is in
our interests. The United States isn't financing all those groups--
only the ones that are best known internationally.
"Those dissidents and human rights groups in Cuba--that are nothing
but a few people--are only important to the extent that they serve us
in a single cause: that of destabilizing Fidel Castro's regime."

Dissidents or Mercenaries, p. 156, Ocean Press, 2000
Two well know Castro apologists an propagandist wrote this.
It is like quoting the Castro rgeime.
I know that Smith is aware of this book. I wrote to him to confirm
this quote and other quotes shortly after it was published 9 years
ago. Besides, for the most part, he is only confirming what you
yourself said (see above) -- these dissident groups for the most part
are completely dependent on foreign, mostly US bankrolling.
A divers group doesn't mean anything, Dan.
Very evasive,
(snip)
Nope.
To the point: a government organized group that was transported by the
regime to the place where they were to attack those defying the rgeim.
Desperately grasping at straws, as always, eh, Mr. Lobbyist? Their
mode of transportation is irrelevant. What we see here is large,
diverse group of Cubans -- young and old, black and white, men and
women -- confronting these US-backed di$$idents of yours:

Contrary to your lies, this is no gang of thugs charging into a crowd,
beating up people. This is democracy in action. Again, these dissident
groups of yours have so little public support in Cuba that, as you
yourself have confirmed, they would not even exist without foreign,
mostly US bankrolling.
