[snipping portions of PL's posting already debunked, or too lame to

the Cuban regime is desperate to silence anyone that opposes them.
Giving people cell phones is an odd way to "silence" them.
(snip)
but not allowing Cubans to access internet in hotels is.
[snip]
Blame your beloved embargo. Tourist hotels are not set up to be the local internet cafe. It is a very limited service (only one or two very slow, dial-up machines in many cases) to allow foreign guests to contact friends and family abroad over an expensive, unreliable satellite link.
(snip)
yes they are.
[snip]
Show us your proof that there are enough computers in hotel internet
rooms for everyone on the island
(snip)
There were enough computers for all that went there.
There are barely enough for guests,
(snip)
says you.

Says anyone who has actually been to Cuba.
(snip)
Nope.
Just your lie.
I have spoken with lots of people that have been there over the last couple of months.
No problems.
Nobody even complained about Cubans being there.
You never went outside the (adult) resorts, Dan.
You know *** about Cuba.

No mention anywhere in the press.

Even in your original posting there is mention of the rationing of
internet access. (snip)

rationing by the regime.
Nowhere is any mention made of trouble or scarcity in the hotels
Another of your lies exposed.

all sources say the same: the measure is aimed at cutting off internet
access for lots of bloggers that are constantly exposing the Cuban
propaganda as lies.

Strangely, they present no proof that there is adequate numbers of
computer in tourist hotels to serve the entire population.

Nor are there enough toilets, but nobody is talking about closing the toilets to all Cubans.
You ridiculous excuse just shows what a pathetic excuse for a propagandist you are.
The measure is aimed at silencing the bloggers.
That is clear from all news items.
castro fears freedom of speech.

But I see you dropped your moronic argument that all Cubans should be
denied access because there isn't room for "everyone on the island"

If Cuba enters in to an agreement with a US company they can hook up to
cables less than 60 miles away.
This is precisely what is prohibited by your beloved embargo.
Nop.
As shown: Cuba had internet access in the past via a line owned by sprint..
Cuba also had opportunities to connect up to the net via Jamaican
companies and refused so.

Bull***. (snip)

facts proven over and over again

Now Obama even has allowed US telcom companies to work with Cuba.

Thanks for confirming that wasn't the case (snip)

I have shown that access via sprint was allowed and that the jamaican company could.
there was also a US company that offered in the past.
Please show that Cuba allowed them. They were sure to make it past the US trade rules.

It stated that:
"The "Projecto Unidad" system is being designed primarily for data and will only carry Internet and data traffic. Quest Net Corp. therefore will not be involved in settlement of telephone tariffs, which is a point of contention between the USA and CUBA. After preliminary contact with OFAC (Office of Foreign Asset Control), FCC (Federal Communications Commission), State and Commerce Departments, the management of the Company is confident that there is no violation of the Cuban Democratic Act in its proposal as Internet traffic is already widely available between the United States and Cuba. The company will not begin construction until such time as permission has been secured and the proper licenses have been obtained from both governments. Although no assurances can be given, the company believes that it will be able to comply with all requirements in order to complete this project."

The real reason is clear: the regime fears the free speech that Cubans
could have on the internet.

You said the same about cell phones.(snip)

All the articles, not me, are saying this about this measure.
Again your pathetic personal attacks are just aimed at hiding the facts.

It fears the fact that Cubans could freely access to media that it
doesn't control.

If Cuba allows PC's to be cheaper (not with the 25% markup), more people
will be able to have PC's.
Note: that should be a 250% markup, not 25%

Still, only a few people would be able to afford them. (snip)
don't hide behind the fact that the Cuban regime has impoverished all.

You mean your beloved embargo has impoverished them. (snip)

nope.
Castro's moronic economic policies have.
Cuba used to be a net exporter of food an now needs to import 80 to 85% of it's food.
More than 50% of the land wasn't even used as the regime did not want to hand it to the people.

But then: 60% get help from abroad and lots of families would gladly
invest in a PC and a connection to be able to be in constant contact.

Let's see your proof that they are sending enough money to pay for
PC's.(snip)

ask anyone with family in Cuba.
A PC with cheap internet access that allows VOIP and e-mail would pay for itself in under a year in reduced phone charges.
It is a no-brainer.

Cubans also share access. One PC in a neighborhood would help lots of
people.

As your original posting shows, Cubans can use computers at post
offices. (snip)

only access to the intranet.
Not to the web as such.
Another hypocrite lie to attempt to mislead people.

I support here the foundation that is introducing the 100 dollar PC in
Africa.

There are also not enough toilets for all Cubans in the hotel:
There is one every room, idiot!
(snip)

Still not enough for all Cubans so according to your moronic pseudo
logic they should also be closed.

There is enough for all Cubans -- in their homes, at their schools and
places of work. Unlike many capitalist hell holes, there is adequate
sanitation for everyone on the island.

Dan: get a life.
With water so scarce and slow to arrive in lots of areas santiation is a problem.
Stagnant water causes dengue.

On sanitation:
http://medicinacubana.blogspot.com/2009/04/wash-your-handsif-you-can-find-soap.html

But then scarcity of toilets and scarcity of PC's has nothing to do with the issue, here, no?

You claimed that closing them would be somehow justified as there wasn't
room for "for everyone on the island".

I claimed there isn't adequate numbers computers at tourists hotels to
serve the entire population.
(snip)
Nor is there in Belgium, the US, China, Singapore, .... any country in the world.
So your so-called "argument" is a lame excuse to explain the closure of access to Cubans.

In no country there is room for everyone in internet cafés.

In Canada, since there is no US embargo here, anyone can go into a
public library and use the computers
(snip)

but in Cuba only the computers of the privileged elite and the tourist hotels have access to the internet (unlike in Cuba). Not those in post-offices, schools, libraries, ...
Access to that and the freedom of speech it offers is what Castro is trying to cut after being ridiculed by the bloggers.
Thanks for again exposing your own hypocrite lies.
This is about access to the internet and freedom of speech.
Anyone would wish that there were indeed more PC's and better access for all. In any case even with 1000's of PC's all over the place the regime would not allow free access to the internet.
your hypocrite so-called "arguments" are all exposed as pathetic dogmatic excuses.
thanks for showing all of us again what a hypocrite liar you are.
thanks for allowing me to kick your dogmatic ass again.
thanks for allowing me to expose you for what you are Mr. serial Liar.
