And the exposure of the "lobbyist" lie.[snip]
I know, you would like us to forget all about your little indiscretion
here some years ago, Mr. Lobbyist. Too bad! While you protested that
you were not paid for your dirty deeds, your protests rung hollow, for
in the very next sentence, you boasted:
"I can 'lobby' 4 MEP's [Member of the European Parliament] and two
ministers in Belgium by going to the confrmation dinner of my
godchild. I can also 'lobby' these MEP's at our squash games. Check
with Club Med in Varadero on which Belgian ministers stayed there and
get back to me...."

The next day, when I asked who these "Belgian ministers" were, you
refused to say, but you did hint that we would know who they were if
we had been following the European political scene.
When I asked if you really went to Veradaro to lobby these high-
ranking parliamentarians, you replied:
"I don't have to go to Varadero. People talk to me before they go to
Cuba...."

A month later, still in full damage-control mode, you conceded:
"I 'lobby' them [members of the Belgium and European Parliaments] in
the sense that I speak to people I know for ages or meet in the
European parliament to inform them on Cuba."

While highly unprofessional, it seems you just couldn't help yourself,
Mr. Lobbyist. While you denied being paid for your dirty deeds, you
were desperate to have is believe what a big man you are, what a real
mover and shaker you are on the world stage. Did you really think we
would be impressed? It was all really quite pathetic.
What Dan claimed on his website (the misquote):
"Today, for the first time, Amnesty International has explicitly
denounced the US embargo on Cuba in humanitarian terms, and made clear
its support for the immediate and unconditional lifting of these cruel
sanctions"http://members.allstream.net/~dchris/CubaFAQ215.html
That was 5 years ago. As AI reiterated last year:
"Amnesty International has called for the US embargo against Cuba to
be lifted, as it is highly detrimental to Cubans' enjoyment of a
range of economic, social and cultural rights, such as the right to
food, health and sanitation - particularly affecting the weakest and
most vulnerable members of the population. According to UNICEF, the
availability of medicines and basic medical materials has decreased in
Cuba as a consequence of the US embargo against the island." (AI
website)
And only weeks ago, they reiterated their condemnation of your beloved
embargo saying:
"The effects of the US embargo continued to be highly detrimental to
the enjoyment of a range of economic, social and cultural rights --
such as the right to food, health and sanitation -- by Cubans, and
especially by the most vulnerable members of the population." (AI
website)
Our Mr. Lobbyist would actually have you believe that, despite their
obvious condemnation of his beloved embargo here, AI would actually
support these cruel sanctions of his for as long as it takes for
certain of his "preconditions" to be met! Yes, he really is that
desperate, that stupid and that cruel! Whatever it takes, right, Mr.
Lobbyist?
As for the rest of his pathetic posting, readers should see these
recent threads for a thorough debunking:
"PL = Paid Lobbyist?"
"PL's supposed 'local knowledge' a sham"
"PL confirms embargo used to harm Cuban citizens -- whatever it
takes!"
"PL likely complicit in massive human rights abuses"

entire repertoire of desperate lies, distortions and evasions
