[snipping portions of Kenny's posting already debunked here, or
too
lame to bother with]
Buchner is a decorated Vietnam War fighter pilot and former
commander
of a region of NORAD, North American Air Defense Command, the
military
network charged with protecting the United States from nuclear
missile
attacks. He retired 20 years ago.
Big friggign deal, just as we've had former CIA people move
to
Havana
and write propaganda for Cuba.
[snip]
Just making it up as you go, eh, Kennykins? As always.

No I am speaking of PHIL there COMRADE.

There is no indication in this Miami Herald article that Buchner
was
any kind of "defector," as you seem to be suggesting. See

I wasn't suggesting anything other than he's just one of the
many
former
hacks in the U.S. Government who are bitter and try to harm their
country
every way they can and suck up to the world's worst dictators.

For which you have no evidence other than him exposing what for you
are some obviously inconvenient truths. Neither the anti-Cuban Miami
Herald nor AP (see below) questioned his credibility in any way --
quite the contrary.

From AP:

"The U.N.'s aviation arm concluded the planes from the Miami exile
group Brothers to the Rescue were shot down in international
airspace.
During the current trial, prosecution witnesses have testified that
only the surviving plane - flown by Brothers founder Jose Basulto -
entered Cuban airspace.

"Buchner testified that the three planes were acting as one and that
Cuba was within its sovereign rights to attack them - even in
international airspace - based on Basulto's incursion.

"'The trigger was when the first aircraft crossed the 12-mile
territorial limit,' Buchner said. 'That allowed the government of
Cuba
to exercise their sovereign right to protect its airspace.'"

Hmmm... this is shaping up to be a nice little article for my
website.

Don't forget to put the UN's decision on it stating the opposite of
what
this idiot says: Cuba had no right to shoot down any of the planes
according
to the UN.

This guy seems to know what he is talking about.

(snip)

The UN has eye witnesses.

Again, these "eye witness" account were never corroborated. They were
inconsistent with both US and Cuban radar plots. It has been suggested
that their ship was also illegally in the Cuban territory and,
therefore, they did not want to reveal their true position.

Ther were much closer to the U.S. Radar reports than the Cuban ones
Danny, AS well as the transcrips. AGAIN the U.N. and EVER civil aviation
authority in the world found against Cuba and Herr Buchner.

Again, the BTR flight leader announced they were at the boundary of
Cuban airspace. All agree, at the very least, that his plane was in
Cuban airspace. About a minute later, according to the transcript, the
Cuban jets were on them from the north.
