Position for Configuration Manager (HOT REQUIREMENT)+

Rate : $ 60/hr on C2C

Job description:

This person will assist with and perform software configuration
management (SCM) activities in support of one or more QA test
environments.

Responsibilities:
- Entering software migration information into a CM database as
migration notifications and daily migration reports are received.
- Running scripts that record component migration data that is needed
to conduct configuration audits.
- Comparing daily migration reports with migration requests from the
previous day to identify and resolve discrepancies.
- Conducting configuration audits of the QA test environments to
identify, investigate, and resolve any discrepancies.
- Generating and distributing configuration reports from a SCM database
for use in determining test configurations and software promotions.
- Resolving any problems that arise, and recommending process and tool
improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness.

Experience:
- Four-year degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
preferred.
- At least two years experience in a software configuration management
or related function.
- Experience with a source/version control tool, such as StarTeam,
ClearCase, PVCS, or SourceSafe -- StarTeam preferred.
- Knowledge of and experience with software development and test
lifecycles (SDLC), procedures, and tools.
- Experience writing and running SQL queries to extract and insert data
in a database.
- Thoroughness and attention to detail -- ability to review detailed
reports and detect potential problems/discrepancies.
- Process improvement experience a plus
