I've been reading this newsgroup lately with a fury of interesting.
there is a lot going on in the world and it never hurts to put you
minds together. I'd also like to see things improve for cuba. This
post isn't simply about cuba but the same idea applies, the full truth
of the situation needs to be looked at, "judge not that ye be not
judged." I'll keep this short but there has always been a central
point to much of the fighting in the middle east, now what I'm going to
suggest israel would probably see as a sign of weekness and its overall
sucess is in a way questionable, but just like the us fails to fully
understand cuba, the arabs and israelis have a similar gap. This is
anyway my deduction from having lived in israel and having been to arab
towns and talked to the people there. Now a majority of arab muslims
are deeply religious people, Jewish Israeli's for the most part are
not, note I'm talking about the average israeli citizen, not the
orthodox secs which make up a smaller percentage of the population.
Muslim's are therefor often deeply effected by nuances and
interpretation of the scripts, most israeli's are simply willing to
fight for what they believe is rightfully theirs. What needs to happen
is to focus on one of the main focal points and that is Jerusalem,
Jerusalem has been a hotbed for a long time. One possible solution if
everyone is willing to come together and take a huge risk is to make
jerusalem a no man's land, it is a place reserved for peace and
expression of however the various religious sects and visitors wish, it
would be a celebration of the spiritual lessons that earth has
regardless of whether they are jewish, christian or muslim. It would
be demilitarized and no weapons would be allowed into the city. Israel
would be influenced by its religious sects in this matter, and all
except a certain chassidic sect would probably dissapprove, but
moreover their military policy has always been to show know
weakness.Still it may be worthwhile to bring this to the table, maybe
at the table with a group of well learned people on all sides who could
hold a panel discussion. Let this be a choice perhaps for all of the
middle east, israel, etc let them decide if it is acceptable. . I'm
not saying this will work but it's somewhat of a utopian idea Millions
of people are connected with this city, it is for all of them to
experience, too many lives have been lose in foolish battles for
control..This is I believe one thing that must happen if the fighting
is ever to fully stop in the middle east. The lesson is similar for
cuba and the us, I believe you can't stand in judgment of a country if
you don't have all the facts. If you believe you are always right you
can pretty much count on the fact that it will be difficult to prevail
towards a positive outcome.
Of course that's a very vague statement but there seems like little
respect,,, if they are indeed looking in cuba's best interest and it is
not entirely dicted by capitalistic obsession and dare I say.. greed.
All the best to everyone,
Craig

We Want to Build a New Middle East without US Tampering
Interview with Mohsen Bilal, Minister of Information of the Arab
Republic of Syria.
By ELSON CONCEPCION PEREZ
After a "long conversation between brothers and comrades with Army
General Raul Castro Ruz," on Sunday afternoon, and before boarding
his plane back to Damascus, the Syrian Minister of Information granted
an exclusive interview to Granma.
Minister of Information of the Arab Republic of Syria, Mohasen Bilel.
Three weeks of Israeli aggression against the Lebanese people and
threats against Syria and Iran compel us to ask the distinguished guest
about his views on the current situation in the Middle East.
If we were to let ourselves be guided by the Western media, it would
seem that this last confrontation is unconnected to the three other
wars between the Israelis and the Arabs. This last, the longest of all,
was the first time Israel was not confronted by an Army or a state.
Despite all its military might, Israel was unable to defeat the Islamic
movement Hezbollah; although in trying to do so, it killed over 1,000
Lebanese and destroyed a large portion of that country's
infrastructure. On this matter, the Syrian minister said:
The region is now faced with the same problems as before the war on
Lebanon, with the US administration's propensity to impose its
hegemony in the region. The United States has clearly stated that it
wants to build a new Middle East, a key piece in its plans for
domination.

First, thanks to Minister Mohsen Bilal for taking the time to have this
interview. It is important that the people themselves be allowed to see
what is going on behind the scenes in these very critical times in our
history.
I agree with the minister that the recent conflict is directly related
to other conflicts. In fact the underlying cause of quite a few of
these conflicts has been the unresolved situation between Israel and
Palestine. Its resolution could pave the way toward settlement of many
other issues and conflicts. I will be talking more on such a reality
later.
"Despite all its military might, Israel was unable to defeat the
Islamic movement Hezbollah"
This is absolutely correct; Israel was defeated in this engagement. It
was dealt a decisive military as well as psychological blow. Hezbollah
and Iran should consider it a great victory and in accordance with
their hopes to bring about certain prophecies. Therefore no further
military engagements are justified in order to bring about desired
changes and future events. Iran should sit back now and watch if the
seeds of their efforts bring forth fruit. I believe they will not be
disappointed.
Let me be clear on this so there is no misunderstanding. I am a
supporter of Israel's right to exist in the place that was promised
to them by Allah. I use the name Allah because for those who have a
higher understanding of these matters they know that the God of ancient
Israel and Islam is one and the same. The three great books; Torah, New
Testament and Koran are all talking about the same core religion and
hence the Jews, Christian and those of Islam being referred to
collectively as the, "Children of the Books".
Iran believes that certain events must take place before the current
times of uncertainty and conflict can finally come to and end. The
Christians have similar prophecies and beliefs concerning these "end
times" prophecies. Interestingly enough they are both similar in that
they perceive this to be the time that these prophecies will be
fulfilled. Both Islamic and Christian prophecies contain very similar
themes which should come as no surprise to anyone as again, we are
dealing with the same God and core religion. This is an important fact
that Hebrews, Shiites and Christians should consider very carefully.
"The region is now faced with the same problems as before the war on
Lebanon, with the US administration's propensity to impose its
hegemony in the region. The United States has clearly stated that it
wants to build a new Middle East, a key piece in its plans for
domination."
Wow, that is one of the most powerfully condensed summaries of the
situation I believe I have yet read. It sums up a multitude of issues
and ideas in a very concise, well thought out manner. Well said my
friend. Let's break it into separate issues for discussion.
Let's start with the use of the word hegemony. It's not exactly a
word you hear everyday is it now? There are lots of ways for one group
to establish authority and control over another. They can achieve
military superiority and use brute force to establish control. They can
use other institutions and systems as well such as religion, economic,
etc. Let's see what Hegemony means. The following is a definition
from:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hegemony
"Hegemony is the dominance of one group over other groups, with or
without the threat of force, to the extent that, for instance, the
dominant party can dictate the terms of trade to its advantage; more
broadly, cultural perspectives become skewed to favor the dominant
group. Hegemony controls the ways that ideas become "naturalized" in a
process that informs notions of common sense."
So how does this relate to current U.S. Foreign policy? He is referring
to the U.S. policy of seeking to promote U.S. like Capitalism and Free
Market principals as well as the higher order concepts of Freedom,
Liberty and Democracy through out the rest of the world. The U.S. does
so along the premise that these are the naturally evolved governmental,
social and economic systems that all the nations of the earth will
eventually adopt as a matter of common sense. The U.S. position is that
there are certain countries that just don't get it yet and so they
have an obligation to show them the faults of their ways. I can
certainly see how this would be perceived as arrogant. I think we can
all see how this would lead to antagonism and conflict. I've been
guided to clear a few misunderstandings up concerning this.
The higher order concepts of Freedom, Liberty and Participatory
Democracy are the right of every person on this earth. They are in fact
part of the evolved final state of human civilization. That said,
uncontrolled Capitalism and caste based free market systems are not.
Where there seems to be the greatest confusion is in how these higher
order concepts of Freedom, Liberty and Participatory Democracy can be
adopted by the nations of the earth. Cuba is an excellent example of
what I am talking about. The U.S. believes that in order to bring these
higher order principles to the Cuban people that the current form of
government must be swept away and replaced with a representative form
of democracy based on the current U.S. model. This in fact was an
incorrect assumption and is in the process of being corrected. The
"rules of engagement" are in the process of being clearly defined
so that misunderstandings like this will no longer be an issue.
Let me make this clear so there is no further misunderstanding on this
critical matter. There can be no compulsion to adopt these higher form
principles of civilization. Adoption of them does not necessitate the
relinquishment of power or the fundamental changing of current
governmental systems. They can be integrated directly into existing
political, economic and social systems without any problem and to the
benefit of all citizens. Now that this is settled lets deal with the
Minister's final statement.
"The United States has clearly stated that it wants to build a new
Middle East, a key piece in its plans for domination."
The first part of this statement is entirely true, the second could not
be farther from the truth. Allow me to explain.
The U.S. does want to see a new Middle East come into existence, a
Middle East of peace, prosperity and freedom. It has been guided by
other interested parties to make this a reality. Such a great work is
not easy and is a learning experience for all involved. Mistakes will
be made but those mistakes can and are being learned from.
"a key piece in its plans for domination." This could not be
further from the truth. The reality is that the goals of the U.S. are
actually to relinquish its influence over certain regions of the planet
and to work in partnership with other core coalition partners to
promote worldwide stabilization. Many of you will find this hard to
believe and understand so let me clarify the situation.
The U.S. has been guided to form a core coalition of working partners
comprised of itself, Russia and China. The purpose of this working
partnership is to promote stabilization, peace and social advancement
in the regions of the earth assigned to each core coalition partner.
The breakdown of regional responsibility is as follows.
The United States has responsibility for all of the Americas. Russian
is responsible for all of Europe, Middle East and Africa. China has
responsibility for the rest. Each of the core coalition partners have
been assigned additional working partners to assist them in the local
regions. America for example is to work with Canada and Venezuela.
Russia is to work with Great Britain, Ukraine and Iran. China's
partners are Japan and Australia. You get the basic idea.
It is the responsibility of each of the core coalition partners to
bring the higher order concepts of Freedom, Liberty and Participatory
Democracy to the rest of the nations they are guided to work with.
Their goal is to establish a more peaceful and cooperative environment
between all nations in their operational regions. The U.S. wants
nothing more then to relinquish control of these areas as it has other
critical tasks ahead that will require their full commitment.
The problem has been that the roles and responsibilities have not been
fully accepted by the respective coalition partners . For example the
U.S. is supposed to be working hand in hand with Venezuela to stabilize
and advanced all of Central and South America. I think it is obvious to
everyone that this has not been the case. Unfortunately the U.S. has
its own problems it is dealing with and systems that are not compatible
with its own promoted higher order systems. A clear example is
democracy. The U.S. has a more primitive form of democracy known as
representative democracy, yet it is supposed to be promoting the more
advanced participatory form of democracy. Uncontrolled capitalism is
another example of an incompatible system contrary to the economic
system the U.S. is supposed to be promoting. These issues are in the
process of being addressed so that we can all move forward in a more
cooperative and stabilizing manner.
What is the ultimate goal that the U.S., China and Russia are supposed
to be working towards? The stabilization and advancement of all earth
nations in order to bring them to the minimum level of political,
economic and social evolvement needed to interact with a civilization
far in advance of earth standards. You have all seen examples in
history of the results of a highly advanced culture interacting with a
far less advanced culture. The result has never been good has it? The
less advanced culture is usually either assimilated completely and
changed beyond recognition or simply destroyed. The U.S., China and
Russia are assigned the task of making sure this does not happen in the
not to distant future when Earth will be interacting with just such a
highly advanced civilization but with a magnitude of advancement beyond
anything ever seen on this world. What civilization am I speaking of?
One you ironically enough have very little true knowledge of, the
"Human Civilization" of which the earth is not exactly part of yet.
But this topic is far beyond the scope of this simple posting. I will
not be elaborating on it any further as this is the responsibility of
the core coalition partners to educate the masses about over time.
Perhaps it is time for the U.S. to release to the general populace some
of the video evidence it has concerning higher order human
civilizations operations in this local star system. Maybe that is just
what is needed to demonstrate the need for earth's nations to put
aside their differences and start acting in their collective best
interests. Maybe it is exactly what is needed to wake you all up and
get you to start acting like civilized adults. I leave that decision up
to them as it is their assigned role and responsibility not ours.
The U.S. now has a clearer understanding if its role and
responsibilities in these matters. Give them a chance to correct their
mistakes and introduce new directions in foreign policy and interaction
with coalition partners. Is it all going to change overnight? No, but
they have realized that the situation is in need of reassessment and
change for the better.
There are two relationships in particular which are critical to moving
forward and need to be addressed as quickly as possible. The first is
the relationship between the U.S. and its assigned partner Venezuela.
We can work on this through joint efforts involving Cuba. Both
Venezuela and Cuba should know that the other interested parties I have
mentioned are fully in support of Socialism and Controlled Capitalism.
This does not sit well with some in the U.S. You should take comfort in
the fact that in the greater scheme of things their protests are
irrelevant. Uncontrolled Capitalism and Representative Democracy is not
the future of this world. Efforts to begin a new working relationship
are in the works. These efforts will be in support of Mr. Chavez's
vision for a unified, peaceful and prosperous Americas as well as
better relations with the U.S.
The second and more volatile relationship is that between the U.S.,
Israel and Iran. Iran has a very important, make that crucial role to
play in the stabilization of the Middle East. That role and destiny can
hardly be achieved if they allow themselves to be destroyed. A nuclear
exchange between Iran and Israel would leave both countries virtually
annihilated. This serves no one's purpose. I am guided to suggest the
following to all parties.
Step back from the abyss and allow a cooling down period. As for Iran
they have achieved the great victory that was prophesied, so there is
no need to engage in further military operations. Give the seeds you
have sown time to grow. Please my friends.
Israel needs to back off as well and get its own house in order. At the
root of your current dilemma is the Palestinian issue. A new and bold
strategy for solving this issue once and for all is under development.
It will require both Israel and Iran to work collectively with the U.S.
and other parties for the benefit of all. Again, that will not be
possible if you annihilate each other. This would destabilize the
entire region and endanger other nations surrounding you. Such a
situation would necessitate a direct interdiction on the part of the
interested parties I have mentioned and believe me my friends neither
one of you want to see that happen. Their actions would be of biblical
proportions and final. As I said before, back away from the abyss and
allow a cooling off period. It would be helpful if all parties would
engage in a one year period of cessation of violence and provocation.
That's not that much to ask is it? Give the resolution of the
Palestinian situation a one year period to be achieved. This includes
the establishment of a Palestinian State and finalization of all
related borders.
I'll bring this to a close now. If you can all take away one thing
from this simple message I have tried to relay it should be this. Try
to stop hurting each other and begin to talk and work together for the
benefit of all mankind. Is it really that hard to understand that
working together in peace is preferable to blowing each other up?
Don't give in to every little provocation. I think you have all heard
this before, "if you are struck on the cheek, turn and offer the
other cheek to them". You all have far more in common then you have
differences. Try to focus on these common goals and objectives. Try to
be nicer toward each other and fight nice kids okay.
One final note concerning our friends in Cuba and Venezuela. Mr. Castro
needs to hurry up and get well because there is much work to do. Mr.
Chavez needs to win his election fairly and decisively so that he may
participate in the Great Work that lay ahead. I am in the process of
creating a working group of prominent and well known U.S. individuals
with the intention of them meeting with both of you in Havana to
discuss just how bright the future can be for all the peoples of the
Americas. Give me some time to get the ball rolling here in the good
old USA. Getting them to do certain things like admit they were wrong
is like pulling teeth at times. Kids! You should know however that they
are at heart a good and noble people capable of admitting mistakes and
rectifying them. The relationship between the U.S., Cuba and Venezuela
is about to undergo a 180 degree change my friends. Hopefully we will
see you soon in Havana and remember nothing is impossible if we all
work together fairly and as equals for the benefit of all our people.
Your friend,
Me
