If you have nothing new to add, and are simply going to keep repeating
yourself like this, do not expect a reply from me.

Again, at the time, Senator Jesse Helms WAS an official source. A Republican
heavy-weight, he was the powerful Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations
Committee and co-sponsor of the genocidal Helms-Burton Act. To you, he may
be a liar -- you are entitled to your opinion. Nevertheless, his position
was well known, hence the quote in the Wayne Smith article. He said the US
regime would view a mass exodus from Cuba as an act of war. You don't even
bother to deny it! And I see that you have been unable to find any evidence
that the US regime has repudiated his statement in any way since then. The
Cuban government can certainly be forgiven then for thinking it continues to
be the policy of the regime. The US Coast Guard, after all, is still
rounding up thousands of would-be "asylum seekers" every year and returning
them to Cuba, as the original posting here shows.
