Severe restrictions, in

ltlee1 - why do you ignore the fact that these Journalists where not
allowed to visit the holiest, the heart of Tibet, Jokhang Temple???

1. You seems to know for sure that the journalists were not allowed to
visit the Jokhang Temple. I, however, don't know. If I were the head
monk and I had a chioce, I might not want the unsolicited attention
and I will choose not to receive the journalist. BTW, another team hed
viisted Jokhang Temple not long ago. The monk who shouted "We have no
freedom" was interviewed. He explained that he was misled and he cried
in regret.

2. I don't anything wrong for not receiving the journalists to visit
this or that temple. People, including government officials, said "NO
COMMENT" to journalists all the time. Not receiving the journalists is
not different from saying "No Comment."

This is where every Tibet from all over the plateau visit to make
pilgrimage - similar to Mecca for Muslims. Perhaps, C'gov't is afraid
as you know that last time few foriegn journalist (hand picked by CCP)
were allowed in Lhasa under strict guidance which lead to a huge
embarrasment as monks from Jokhang temple bravely cried and pleaded
for help and saying there's no freedom in Tibet! Unfortunately these
same monks who spoke out have not been seen or head since then! They
pay heavy price for speaking out the truth. Tibetan or not, NO human
race can live happily under such brutal oppressers. If China is truly
sincere they should implement their own Consititutional Law, the basic
Rights and  Freedom to all minorities including Tibetans who live in
so called "Tibetan Autonomous Region"??
