I think the reason is due to the traditional culture rather than itswhat he had
one party state. USA with its political culture could question its Prsident

It would have been "unthinkable" in Taiwan under CKS, but once the people got
normal human rights it was very thinkable.
The problem is NOT culture. It is oppression.
YES. this goes back to the political culture of tolerating differences.
Not culture at all. Oppression.
Blame it on Confucianism.
