One "benefit" would be China would no longer be China.

And Lee Deng Hui would die smiling.

Are you implying that Western style Democracy is harmful to China, and
that Lee Deng Hui's ambition is to destroy China?

Democracy, like Communism, is an ideology. On paper they are both
idealistic and strife to serve the majority of the people, but put the
human element of greed into it, and you have something totally
different. China has never been ruled by any form of Democracy
throughout history, because the Emperor in power always made sure that
the people bow to his power, in order to remain in power. The idea of
choosing a representative came into being after the Liberation, when
villages would be asked to send a representative to speak out for the
villagers. There was no real representation before that. Anyone who
says that there was Democracy in China before the Liberation is simply
lying, because there wasn't - I was there, and I fought to overthrow
the KMT. Anyone who says that the CCP today is perfect is also lying,
because China is reverting to the days before the Liberation, when
money means more than idealism. The standard of education in the rural
areas is still relatively low, and consequently, many people don't
know the meaning of Democracy, and will be easily swayed or threatened
by power hungry officials, if they were asked to vote. The conditions
in China now are not perfect, but which country has perfect conditions
for every citizen? There will always be a few who will manage to climb
to the top and leave others in the bottom. However, national stability
is good, and I know that with stability, our economy will surge
forwards and living conditions will improve, with it, standard of
education and human rights will also improve. Anyone who says that
China must have Democracy now is either an idiot or a trouble maker. I
am not a mouthpiece for the CCP, but I speak for the majority of the
educated people in China, who want only what is good for the country.
Western style Democracy has no place in China: we are looking towards
a system of Capitalist Socialism, like that in Scandinavia. Lee Deng
Hui was only interested in destrying China and make a name for himself
in history.- Hide quoted text -
